Calling all sparkling wine lovers!! In this class, we’ll pop all kinds of bubblies - from the classics like Champagne and Cava, to wild and funky Pet Nats, to the unique sparkling wines of places like England and South Africa. We’ll go over the different production methods utilized for sparkling wine and how it, along with many other factors, affects the final product. Cheers!
Our wine classes typically include a little something to help cleanse your palate, but we highly encourage you to make a reservation in the wine bar at least a full hour before class if you'd like to enjoy some small plates in the bar, or eat a light meal before attending.
Wine Class: Spanish Wine Series, Part 3: "Central" | SOLD OUT
The winemaking region of Central Spain is sprawling and incredibly diverse. One of the largest wine regions in the world, Castilla-La Mancha, grows the country’s beloved and versatile Tempranillo as well Garnacha, and the native Bobal. International varieties like Syrah, Monastrell (Mourvèdre), Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon also thrive in the surrounding areas of Aragón, Madrid and Valencia. We’ll take a deep dive into this unique and vast viticultural area of Spain!

In this class, we’ll explore wines from Mallorca and the Canary Islands and taste why they have started to gain such international recognition. These high-quality, distinctive wines showcase the islands’ unique grape varieties and are truly captivating. We will also learn all about Spain’s most historic wine - the fortified Sherry from Jerez. We’ll discover the complexities of how Sherry is made along with its many styles. This is truly a class of discovery!
