A Special Cooking Event with Orin Swift Cellars

What do a prisoner being released, a divorce decree, and a contract end all have in common? Freedom!

Winemaker David Phinney, ironically the maker of the “Prisoner” label, has not been able to create a Zinfandel for 8 years due to a contract requirement upon selling the brand. That contract term has now expired, and his first Zin, aptly named 8 Years in the Desert, is now available! Orin Swift Cellars of St. Helena, California dates back to 1998 after David went to Florence, Italy and got “hooked” on wine and the wine making process. After working for the Mondavi Winery, he decided to found his own winery – Orin for his father, and Swift for his mother- both family names. For over a decade he has been building the brand into what it is today with his quality wines.

Uncorked Kitchen chose Orin Swift Cellars to partner with for a unique cooking event being held Friday, October 5^th, 2018. The hands-on event features a professional wine pourer who will discuss the wines, the grape sourcing and, of course, wine tasting and pairing. Participants will create a delicious four-course meal to enjoy alongside the Orin Swift Cellars wines, including the new, highly anticipated 8 Years in the Desert Zinfandel.

Guests will get a sample of the new Zinfandel, and each course will perfectly pair with a chosen Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet and Syrah blend.

Our chef will guide all guests through the preparation, cooking and plating of the meal while the wine pourer perfectly matches wines throughout the exclusive event.
