Kitchen Basics: 5 Cooking Schools You Have to Try | Denver Life Magazine  |  By Lesley Kennedy and Kendall Kostelic  |  August 2016

“Maybe you’re looking to up those chopping skills. Or you’re tired of takeout night after night. Perhaps you’re interested in learning more about an international cuisine. Or you just want a date night that moves beyond the typical movie and popcorn. Cooking classes are fun, educational and—bonus!—delicious, too. And whether it’s basic techniques, something more advanced or simply social time you crave, Denver-area schools are serving up a bushel of options to suit all, well, tastes. We visited five local spots for tips and tricks we can’t wait to use at home. The Basics: This hidden gem near Park Meadows Mall from owners Eric and Katie Robbins debuted last fall and is part wine bar and small plates eatery and part cooking school. Be sure to arrive early for a glass of vino, a beer or a cocktail on the noteworthy deck before your class (drinks may be ordered from the bar during the event if you like). Then try not to get distracted while you cook as you watch the sun set over the Front Range from your classroom. With adult, date-night and kid-themed events, all classes revolve around a themed menu and are led by a chef instructor.”
